The island of Thassos is located in northeastern Greece in the Aegean Sea, about 8 km off the coast of Macedonia. With an area of some 390 sq km is the ninth largest island of Thassos in Greece. About 16,000 people live permanently on Thassos.

The island is very green and fertile, resulting both from the mild climate, and from the volcanic origin. Besides the production of honey and olive oil as well as the dismantling of the known, pure white marble, tourism plays a large role in Thassos.

Who will make his holiday individually, is the right place. The shady forests and mountains are ideal for walking. Depending on the flavor can stone, gravel, and sand beaches are visited that are not overcrowded. The taverns offer regional dishes to (mostly) reasonable prices.
